TSUYOSHI SUZUKI

TSUYOSHI SUZUKI began his professional music career in Tokyo in the late 1980s while studying film and video production at Nihon University's College of Art. Initially aspiring to become a visual artist, his experience at "Art," an event organized by DJ K.U.D.O at the legendary Yellow nightclub in Nishi-Azabu, changed his direction. Fascinated by the interactive nature of DJ performance, he decided to pursue a career as a dance music DJ.

In 1993, he moved to the UK on his own and founded the trance label Matsuri Productions, releasing numerous successful tracks. At the same time, the success of Return To The Source, a regular event in London, propelled him to international recognition as one of the world's leading DJs. In 1998, he was responsible for the music at ISSEY MIYAKE's Tokyo and Paris fashion shows, while also making his debut with his own electro band, JOUJOUKA.

In 2000, he relocated his base to Tokyo and launched the legendary event "Tokio Drome." He subsequently established the electro label Madskippers, releasing more than a dozen CDs worldwide and bringing Tokyo's electronic music sound to an international audience.

In 2007, he launched "MADSKIPPERS," a bi-monthly event at CLUB ASIA in Shibuya. Built around the concept of blending club music with rock, the event became a major success and established itself as one of Japan's leading alternative entertainment experiences. In 2009, he founded Matsuri Digital, helping spearhead the Goa trance revival movement by digitally reissuing classic tracks through Wakyo Records.

In 2012, he collaborated with Israel's Krembo Records to release the compilation album "Classic Goa Trance From Tel Aviv." That same year, he achieved major success with "REGENERATE," a countdown party held at Shinjuku FACE. Through countdown parties, outdoor festivals, and other distinctive events, he continued to develop a new vision for Matsuri. In March 2015, "TIMELESS," held at ageHa, attracted more than 2,000 attendees and became a major talking point in the trance scene. Driven by his vision of creating a new, futuristic form of Goa trance, he continues to push the genre forward.

In 2016, he returned to the main stage of Boom Festival, one of the world's most prestigious psychedelic trance festivals, for the first time in a decade. In 2018, Matsuri Productions released a series of remakes of classic tracks alongside new compilations. He also launched GoKen, a new project with UbarTmar, continuing his exploration of fresh sounds inspired by the quality and spirit of 1990s psychedelic trance.
