Rio Kawamoto

Born in Yokohama, Japan.

Started DJing around 2007. After exploring a variety of genres, he became devoted to dance music, mainly Techno and House.

In May 2015, he released his first EP, "Lemmings EP," from Sakadat Record in London. Since then, he has released works on international labels including Teffebu, run by the notable Mexican collective buffete.

As a DJ, he has performed not only at clubs and parties throughout Tokyo, but also in Korea, Shanghaw, Taipei, and at Epizode Festival in Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam (2017).

In 2020, he co-founded the Tokyo-based DJ crew and label “COWBOY FAMILY” with WADA YOSUKE, TAKASHI HIMEOKA, and DJ RAZZ, where he serves as a resident DJ.

He participated in the label’s first V.A. release in 2024, and in 2025 released his solo EP "INTERNET O.G.s" from COWBOY FAMILY RECORDS.

He is known for his love of machine beats and raw synth sounds, pursuing a unique, stripped-down sonic aesthetic.
