Based in Sapporo, Kuniyuki Takahashi has developed a distinctive musical world that transcends borders, earning widespread acclaim from producers and DJs around the globe.

He released “Precious Hall” on Joe Claussell’s Natural Resource, a tribute to the legendary Sapporo club in his hometown, and contributed to a compilation on 2000Black, the label run by 4Hero’s Dego. His remix of Ananda Project’s classic “Cascades of Colour” and the single “Earth Beats” on Mule Musiq also received overwhelming support from DJs worldwide.

Since the release of his debut album “We Are Together” in 2006, Kuniyuki has released numerous albums. His 2012 album “Feather World” marked a new chapter in his career, featuring collaborations with acclaimed jazz pianist Fumio Itabashi, known for his unique musical vision, as well as longtime collaborator Henrik Schwarz.

He has also collaborated with international artists including DJ Nature and Vakula, with these works compiled into an album released by Sound of Speed in 2017. He contributed to DJ EMMA’s “ACID CITY” compilation, with his track “Acid Air” receiving support from artists including DJ Harvey and Gilles Peterson.

In 2017, Kuniyuki released a new album under his Newwave Project, revisiting his musical roots in industrial music and new wave. In 2018, Dutch label Music From Memory released a collection of previously unreleased works he had produced during the 1980s and early 1990s. In 2021, he released a remix of Fumio Itabashi’s “WATARASE.”

In recent years, Kuniyuki has performed extensively both in Japan and internationally, touring across Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and beyond. His live performances fuse improvisation with dance music to create a style entirely his own. He has also performed live sessions with artists from across genres, including Tobias., Circle of Live, Satoshi Tomiie, Floating Points, Henrik Schwarz, and Mark de Clive-Lowe.
