GROUND

DJ / Producer
Based in Osaka, Ground creates new experiences on the dancefloor by processing and reconstructing sounds he has encountered around the world. His musical style knows no borders. The wide range of textures and soundscapes woven into his productions and DJ sets evokes visions of otherworldly ecosystems, pulsating with primal rhythms and a deep, captivating energy. Immersing oneself in these sounds often feels like transcending the boundaries between the human and the alien.

Ground began DJing in his teens, establishing his roots in Osaka’s underground music scene before performing across Japan. He is one of the founding members of the Chill Mountain collective, which regularly hosted parties in Okukawachi, Osaka. He later shifted his focus toward developing the record label Chill Mountain Rec alongside sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills.

His international career has taken him to festivals and events in more than 21 countries, including the United States, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Ecuador, Croatia, Israel, Cyprus, and Switzerland.

Ground is also a prolific producer, with a rich and intricate catalog of EPs, singles, and collaborations. He has released six albums, including his internationally released debut album “SUNIZM” (2018), which came out on the Los Angeles-based label ESP Institute.
